Great shop. New owner is very informative and really interested in helping kids learn. Many nice things to purchase as gifts. Great field trip destination for students.
Gift shop with rocks, dinosaur toys, and fossils! The rocks and crystals are absurdly cheap, a fraction of the price you'd pay in Boston or Northampton. For example, they sell amethyst for $4 per pound.
We had my son's 6th birthday here and it was fantastic - I highly recommend stopping in or planning to spend some time here. If you have kids, there are great activities - digging for fossils/gems (which they get to keep - and there are real fossils in there), mining for gems (again, real, and they keep them), and panning for gold (ok, no gold, but great crystals etc). Tons of stuff to see and read about, nice area out back with picnic tables to have a snack while you're exploring. Really great outing for any time you're passing by, but also a GREAT place for a birthday party.
Gina & her Husband the new owners, have made this an awesome fun place for the entire family & maybe the schools will have field trips there again someday. Positive feeling, worth the ride to visit
Absolutely loved browsing the gift shop. The big dinosaurs outside are a little cheesy, but we like it that way. Neat little roadside attraction like the old days. Worth a stop, with or without kids!
Panning for "gold" was super fun even as an adult. We got a piece of amethyst the size of a fist and petrified wood with amber still in it. Out back are life size recreations of dinosaurs. 10/10!
